Privacy policy
Who we are
Swippable turns long posts into short, swipeable Stacks. In this policy, "we" means Swippable. If you have any question about your data, email hello@swippable.com.
Who can use Swippable
You must be 18 or over to create a Swippable account.
What we collect from creators
- Your email address, which we use to sign you in with a link and to send you emails about your account and your Stacks.
- Your name, handle and profile photo, if you add them.
- What you put into Swippable: links and text you paste, the Stacks we make from them, and the images, video, audio and music you upload.
- If you join a team: your membership and the Stacks you create in it. The team owner sees your name, your email address and your team Stacks. If you invite someone to a team, we keep their email address and send them the invitation.
- Billing details: your plan and its status. Card payments are handled by our payment provider, and we never see or store your card number.
What we collect from your audience
When someone views a public Stack, we record:
- a cookie that recognises a returning visitor, kept for 12 months
- their country and region
- their type of device
- the site that sent them
- how far they got, how long they stayed, and whether they tapped the link
We do not store their IP address, city or postcode with this information.
If a Stack includes a form, quiz or poll, we keep the answers for the creator of that Stack, who can see them.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep creators signed in, to remember which team a creator is working in, and to count visits to public Stacks as described above. By continuing on a public Stack, visitors agree to these cookies, as set out in our Terms of use.
How we use this information
- To provide Swippable: signing you in, making and showing your Stacks, and storing your files.
- To turn your posts into Stacks. We send the link or text you give us to our AI provider for this.
- To send emails, such as sign-in links, publishing and expiry notices, and team invitations.
- To take payments and manage your plan.
- To show creators how their Stacks are doing.
- To keep Swippable safe. For example, we briefly use an account or an IP address to limit repeated attempts, and we clear these counters after about a day.
We rely on what is needed to provide the service you asked for, our legitimate interest in running and protecting Swippable, and our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the companies that help us run Swippable: our hosting provider, our database and file storage provider, our payment provider, our email provider and our AI provider. Some of them may store or process information outside the UK.
Public Stacks can be seen by anyone with the link, and they may appear in search engines and AI search results.
How long we keep it
- Your account information is kept while your account exists.
- Visit information and answers are kept while the Stack they belong to exists. Monthly visit totals are kept after that.
- When a Stack or an account is deleted, its information is deleted with it. Copies may stay in our backups for up to 7 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how we use it. To delete your account, email hello@swippable.com from the address you sign in with, and we will delete it within 30 days. Your Stacks, files and visit details go with it; only monthly visit totals remain.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
